Few changes can be designed, planned and implemented without the involvement of groups or teams or people. Involvement not only generates ownership for and commitment to change, it can also be effective in ensuring that all options for change are explored and that the best option is ultimately chosen. But for most people wrapped up in the change process it is difficult to remain neutral, which is essential if all possible options are to be properly examined. Facilitation is as much an art as a skill. Knowing how to get the best out of a group or a team requires unbiased judgement, a good understanding of group dynamics and a knowledge of multiple facilitation techniques and methods. There is often a need for independent facilitation of specific meetings, for example where the topic is likely to be contentious or where participants are unable to select or agree a course of action. Our independent facilitators have wide experience of how control the meeting process and how and when to use a range of tools and techniques to ensure a suitable resolution to the issues at hand. Likewise, organisations often want to generate new or creative ideas and solutions to problems (e.g. when defining a new strategy or product) but don't know how to release the creativity of their people in meetings. This is another area where our facilitators excel. Change¦unction can provide a full range of facilitation services for one-off or series of meetings, as part of a change programme or independently. Facilitation services include: Meeting planning and preparation: identification of potential issues and barriers: formulation of outcome objectives: meeting facilitation: contention management: post meeting reviews, etc. We also run basic and advanced facilitation skills courses.
